Oddly very little coverage on this, but video of inflight engine fire coming out of LIM a couple days ago.

As always, kudos to the crew for getting it on the ground and keeping the pax safe.

That’s the 3rd United 767 to lose an engine inflight in short time frame.

I was thinking that too. What's up with their P&Ws?

I always thought the Prats were a garbage engine option compared to the GEs. Though this is definitely worrisome with the 777s coming up on 1.5 years of being grounded, what's next for the 767s? And how much of the fleet is Pratt vs GE?

16 767-400’s are GE. All -300’s are PW.

The 763s are old, but I’m curious how old/how often engines are changed /replaced. Three in a time frame is a little worrisome to me , however it seems all 3 were completely different issues. If it’s true that things happen in threes hopefully this is it! It would be nice if the company would release something about this.

I’m not an Airbus guy. But from what I understand the A330 NEO burns 50% of the 767. I think will see a big Widebody order in the next 12 - 18 months. Hopefully not just replacements for 767’s & 777-200’s but hopefully growth too. I’m sure Kirby is going to big time play Airbus against Boeing for a good deal for United.
