So we get a few pieces of silver thrown at us for massive concessions at a time we have the most leverage as pilots? I was never polled or asked by any of these shysters what I wanted to see in a contract. I hope this thing fails miserably and these want to be management sell outs leave in disgrace! The Local Councils will either have to be aggressive with their elected local council leaders, or they will have to let the LEC reps simply do as they wish. You either force the reps to get on board with your plan, or you let them administer their own plan. Knowledge of how to call a special LEC meeting, and how to conduct a recall is crucial. Otherwise, they can push you off for about 90 days. That makes it harder to get any momentum when they run their version of the act on you. |

So am I, but WE have larger issues right now, and it is ABSOLUTELY NOT TOO LATE. The reality of being a soldier is that sometimes Generals make horrible mistakes. When a General makes a mistake, effective soldiers first win the battle, then address the General. Effective soldiers don’t cry about why they were placed in a bad fighting position while the enemy is trying to kill them.
This TA is our primary threat. Kill it. After next week, sack the Generals. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk We are where we are. Pilots are pilots, we stabilize the aircraft (Vote NO), use our resources, communicate effectively and take corrective action. In order to do everything that needs to be done, we must first stabilize the aircraft! The below is the ORD council 12 update. The not so subtle message is that the only path forward to make the necessary changes is through voting on the TA. Make no mistake, without an overwelhming NO vote (win the battle) we will lose our ability to make all of the other changes we need to make to ultimately win the war from the analogy above. We do that the way soldiers always have done that, Unity and Resolve. Communicate with your more junior soldiers, let them know we have each other's backs and that we will come out of this battle better equiped to win the war. There is no need for Neville Chamberlain at this point, we have more than enough fight left in us and all the advantages a group could ever hope for. Our ultimate victory is gained through our unity, our strength, and using the leverage we have, not by agreeing again to "get em next time." The vote must show that the troops are ready for battle, then we can get some Generals assigned for the remainder of the war. Vote NO and then educate those around the reasons they need to vote NO as well! -------- Council 12 Website https://ecp.yusercontent.com/mail?ur...9mCoc2AO7A--~D A Message From Your Council Officers During Special MEC meeting on July 7th your Council Officers joined the rest of the MEC and unanimously agreed that the Tentative Agreement ballot will remain open through the originally planned closing date of Friday, July 15th. Our opinion remains that this agreement is a bad deal. Our CON statement explains our reasoning. If you haven’t already done so, it is imperative that you vote. We see two potential outcomes: The TA passes - the message to the company is that this TA reflects what we believe we are worth. The TA fails - a new starting point is created for an agreement that we know we deserve.History tells us that the best outcomes occur when pilots are unified and resolute. We will accomplish this through an overwhelming turn out; one that expresses the will of the pilots with unambiguous clarity. ALPA President Joe DePete recently stated, “We are in the best negotiating environment in the history of ALPA with the most leverage of our careers.” Vote. In Unity, Wendy, Phil and Lisa |

Nope. They actually did the right thing here. But now the membership needs to shoot it down hard and fire them anyway.
Let this POS go down in flames. What they are saying is " if you don't like it vote NO". We will know soon enough what the United pilot group is made of , roll over yes men or a group that values its services. VOTE HELL NO And let's get a real TA |
This whole mess has become such a clown show, but I’m in agreement that the best outcome is that this goes to a vote and fails overwhelmingly- I’m hoping for at least 80% no. A narrow defeat would mean they’ll just repackage the same horrible terms with a nominal amount of cash sprinkled on top. I really can’t say what reasoning individual reps had to follow through with the vote, but I think the AA deal & the pause in communications is going to lose them a lot of votes. I also think they’ve had the wind taken out of their sails by all of this & the resuming road shows will probably be increasingly underwhelming- I think they’ll be visibly “on the ropes”. Anyone out there who’s still “on the fence” is going to have a harder time getting to yes. Still, nothing’s a done deal. I’m feeling pretty confident in this thing not passing; less so about it failing by a good enough margin.

On July 16th we will know if United pilots are the biggest group of spineless rollover yes men or a strong unified union that is willing to fight for a decent CBA . I could have thrown in a few more adjectives but I refrained. Remember all you yes voters YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR VOTE RIGHT UP TO THE CLOSE.
VOTE NO NO AND FN NO |

EXACTLY!
This was the wisest, and most legal step the MEC could have taken. The TA horse has left the barn, and now it’s up to the Pilots; if it passes it’s on us. How the TA got past the MEC will remain a problem to be addressed via the recall vehicle. The ratification responsibility rest solely with the Membership at this point. Of course I’ll be roasted for this, but the MEC gets my respect for this message as they didn’t try to sell the TA; in fact, they actively stopped selling it last week. They're restarting the road shows next week. The selling will continue. |

Thanks. I wasn’t aware Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
If the Amex Is going to start road shows selling this TA and you are so adamant about the negatives, have you considered some grass roots efforts to counter the MEC in the crew lounges? Rally your friends and have someone in each lounge for the next week to see the no vote. I know that’s not how anyone wants to spend their time ultimately, but I think that’d be time well spent.
