DEN
Curious as to what airframes move quicker to be able to hold den? Obviously narrow-body but are the Bus and Guppy equal or is there a better option to get to DEN quicker?

Not an exciting answer, but yes 737 is the fastest way to get there.
I believe the most junior guy on the July vacancy was hired early this year. Just know also if a vacancy popped up in a different aircraft and your seniority would hold DEN in that different type, you could always bid into the base that way (unless it was 737FO to A320FO or similar, going uphill in size or seat you won’t be seat locked). |
Fastest is a relative term. The 3 most junior FOs in DEN are on the bus. When the opportunity to move there via a vacancy bid or if there happens to be availability from the leftovers to new hires is a moving target. Either way, 320 or 737, you’ll will likely have the opportunity in short order.

I bid 73's LAX (10+ flights each day DEN LAX) at BI and then won DEN in the 1st vacancy bid. Started BI in Feb and got DEN in June. Still not OE complete so haven't had to commute yet, if that helps.

you’ll either start within 3 weeks of sim completion, or you’ll sit around for months.

It can change though. A few years ago some guy came on here and ranted about how United hired him but didn’t quickly give him a class date so he took a job at SWA and told United “no thanks”. He just wanted to be Denver based and it was only 12 years to Captain there and someone told him our junior Captain was 20 years (which wasn’t true). Now its 4. Will probably be less or unfilled if we really take 350 more growth 737s. |
