Don’t mistake gratitude for being out of the express dumpster fire for resignation/acceptance at some of the abysmal QOL portions of the UPA.
It is possible to not be totally miserable at work and still want to fight for improvements.

The trips themselves, even when they’re bad, are still better. We’re on a mainline seniority list. We can actually occasionally get a drop or a trade approved. Once you get some decent seniority you can still cherry pick good trips. Beauty of this job is choice… right now anyway with the growth and retirements. WB FO vs NB CA has always been a split in the road… some like long haul flying with redeyes and some prefer domestic 2-3 short legs a day. Personally I hated the 3 legs a day and short layovers… reason I jumped to 756 and the variety.

Feel bad for them?? They have gotten the biggest career windfalls ever seen...they are ****ed about being on reserve more than a month and having to wait a year to upgrade.

When I came here in the mid 90’s those new guys would be doing the same flying but paying for their own training and making dirt for pay instead of making UAL wages. This is what we’ve been asking for since the RJ came on the scene. Instead of doing those 4 legs/day in an RJ, they’re doing it a major gaining seniority vs updating their apps and waiting 5-10 years for the phone to ring.
Make it 6-7 hours a day to shave off a few works days a month, then it’s a different conversation .
