Alaska TA pass

So… any comments on this? Do you think it’s a win? Do they set the bar higher?

In many areas they raised the bar.

1400 Day one show for reserve
RSV work rules much better than ours
15% raise on the top end is meh but they have had a raise since 2019 unlike us
5:15 per day
5 hrs pay and credit for training
3:45 vacation
5 hrs holiday pay
Reasignment pay 150% or 200% if over 5 hrs with pilot concurrence
Delayed pay 1 for 2 minutes
No flying into days off
Close in parking under 4 hrs

Those are just some of the items that will be required at a minimum in a new contract at UAL. That is at a National carrier as well. SK wants UAL to be the premier International carrier in the US. He’s going to have to come up with a contract to attract the pilots to make it happen now.

Don't forget.

“Snap up” clause: average of the following top of scale Captain rates: United (737-MAX 8/9), American (Group II), Delta (737-900), Southwest, and JetBlue (A320/321).

Also, don't forget their signing bonus was a fantastic gift to the Company. I wanna play poker with these people!

1400 day-one show is doable for a domestic narrowbody operation but that clearly won't work for a global airline.
