5% Pay Raise Effective Dec 1st

Immediate Pay Increase
We are accelerating the 5% wage increase from the Pandemic Recovery Agreement (LOA 20-05) to the December bid period.

The LOA provided a 5% hourly increase to current pay rates, as shown in the pay tables in the LOA, once United returns to consistent profitability. Under the terms of the LOA, the company could have waited until May 2023 bid period to pay out the 5% wage increase. Based on our results through Sept. 30 and guidance for the rest of 2022, however, the company has elected to implement these increases in the December 2022 bid period. This is a show of good faith and a down payment on a market-based, industry leading labor agreement. It’s also recognition of the role that you played in helping United survive the pandemic and recover so much stronger.

Welcomed for sure

Didn't care for the part about this being a "down payment" on a new contract. This has nothing to do with our contract and should not be considered as such.

Right. I don’t work there but that is shady.

Really enjoyed the list of horrible contract parameters that they are "retracting". We'll let you keep most of your current work rules, congratulations on the gain for the pilot group.

He was claiming current contract parameters as improvements to the TA that already failed.

So, to summarize the letter, you're all on reserve, we'll stop asking for the most egregious of the work rule concessions, and by the way we just took on a bunch of debt so don't ask us about money.

It’s the 5% LOA raise, 5 months early, what’s shady about it? Not to mention that if (hopefully we do) get a new TA, the pay raise included will be cumulative based on the additional 5%.

I am very surprised...but well played by the company...

I mean…. It’s better than a swift kick in your gender specific parts I guess.

It was negotiated already. It’s coming early and the company put a bunch of cards on the table as to what they are agreeing to regardless. No matter what, Tumi2.0 will have to come in strong to move the needle.

Glad to see C5 respond quickly and aggressively. Clearly the changes made there were effective.

Also not surprised that they have beaten Big Mike to the punch. Obvious what the next change needs to be.
