Yeah, sorry. It seemed like a silly question.

If you fly anything smaller than a 50 seat RJ, doesn't seem like it's a thing. He probably doesn't realize the amounts of money involved in a large cargo operation.

This isn't something that United came up with on their own. American was taxiing without final weights when I was hired with Eagle in 1991. I'm sure Delta does the same.

If it was a violation, I'm sure the FAA would have noticed by now.

DL does the same. About 8 prior to push we get a message that tells us we are OK to push or If we are close to a limiting weight it will say stay at gate until we get final numbers. I assume UA and AA have a similar setup.

Either way, legal or not, it would be nice if ya'll could get your ducks in a row before you block the taxiway to the runway,

the rest of the industry (minus American).

Stop being an ass on another sub forum. And if this was your whole point all along, at least be an ass to begin with and save the trouble. :)

Anyway, this practice is industry standard for decades. Everyone does it, except for maybe one airline. Time to get over it…if there is anything to get over.
