I think it’s pretty obvious he didn’t mean ‘milk toast’. He’s using it as an adjective.
Besides the food writer M. F. K. Fisher (1908–1992) called milk toast a "warm, mild, soothing thing, full of innocent strength". Hardly, the sentiment the author was going for. |

This culture of hurt feelings being more dangerous than anything else disgusts me. When did we all become so fragile? If you banned oofff…I’d be just as irritated.

Bottom line is this.
One man’s truth is another man’s farce. On the whole, if FADEC was truly trolling, you would have seen him double down, engaging endlessly and upping the ante. He didn’t. This is why I’d consider his posts an essential part of the rhetoric on this forum. They show the extremophile the ridiculousness of their position in a well crafted, hilarious fashion. That some people took enough offense to get him banned and that a mod agreed is a far bigger issue to me. It is a strangulation of the dialectic that goes on here. |

Bring him back.

100 votes, pretty evenly split. What was that statistical significance thing again?

My comment was delineating a difference between trolling (Oofff) and whatever you would call what Fadec does. I wouldn’t call it trolling though, as his posts are limited to just the one, not an ongoing gaslighting fest.

I enjoyed fadec's post. He typically ridiculed the extremes of both sides of an argument and used very humorous and nuanced satire. Bring him back!
