TK Expansion
(Reuters) - United Airlines on Friday said it is spending $33 million to buy 113 acres (46 hectares) in Denver as part of its growth strategy. The Chicago-based U.S. airline said it plans to use "part of this land as the site for the expansion of our world-class Denver pilot training facility." Asked if United could use the land to move its corporate headquarters, a United spokeswoman said, "The land in Denver gives us options for the future as we implement our big plans to grow." United is acquiring two parcels, including one just outside Denver International Airport with access to its Flight Training Center. United added that it has "been in Chicago for decades and have thousands of employees here" and that the airline has an immediate need to expand its Flight Training Center. "Beyond that, it’s prudent for any large company to take advantage of opportunities to buy land in its key cities when the opportunity arises – so we didn’t want to miss this opportunity in Denver," the airline said. Wonder if they'll build a campus like AA did. Location MUCH closer to the airport. 17671 E. 64th Ave. |
That is where the A350 sims will go

33mil… That’s $290k per acre…
Company could build 452 homes each on a .25 acre lot, sell each home for $750k (it’s Denver), that would be $339 million or 10 times the initial investment and by that time we’ll be on Delta’s profit sharing plan. This could work out well |
That sounds like the underpants gnomes method of profit! I’m all about that if so

It’s for the Boom, electric sky hoppers and a day care facility for our new hires. They are also putting in an elder care for the 65 and older pilots.

TK physically has no where else to go. DL is building a facility in SLC that is primarily gonna be used for west coast based pilots CQ events. They're building it as we speak. |

If it's anything close to what like AAs campus is, it's not something we should strive for. I've heard their hotel is the definition of "big brother". Tons of rules like no sandals around the hotel, crew ID everywhere you go including the gym as well as the bar. No food or drinks back to your room. Lots of cameras and have to sign into their version of FT to access Wi-Fi.

I wonder if they couldbury the parking lot and put in another building or two but I’m not sure if you could anchor a sim with a parking garage underneath it. |
