100%. The funny part about this whole debate though is that I doubt this provision will even be used very often. After releasing the freeze and opening captain bids to all there will be very few (if any) left for new hires.

Speaking of reserve, what are the highlights of the new work rules?

Classdate later this month, so dont know the current book, but curious what the main improvements to reserve are.

The main improvement I've found is limiting LC to SC conversions to 6 times a month, end of involuntary FSB, as well as the improved call-out times and increased days off.

So with 20-K-1-f-(1)-(c) in mind, does this mean 75% of reserves will be awarded long call and 25% of reserves would be awarded short call if reserve is 20% of the category for that month? And if 25% reserve for a category, all reserves would need to be offered long call? Just want to clarify that I am reading it correctly

One more question about reserves!
According to LOA 23-03 the Test for compressed lines, will only be applicable to global reserves first and then the rest basic ?

under the UA plan, your LTD payments are not taxable, so having a separate source of income while on LTD does kill you as bad on taxes.

It is taxed as you mention. On paper it’s 50% of FAE but the reality is you get 60% or so with PS ect… The key to the Delta plan is it’s 100% company funded. A Delta guy can take what you are paying at UAL and opt for DPMA and have plenty left over for the purchase of a third disability plan. DPMA and another outside plan would both be tax free.

Was negotiated in July according to the NC. Here ya go.....

a. Reassignment and Overtime Pay b. Elimination of mandatory FSB LOA 23-01 550 c. Implementation of all forms of reserve lines (VEC, Long-Call Only, SC line, Compressed, et. al.) d. SC Matrix/SC Cap e. Rolled Day Off protections f. Reserve MPG/Days-Off g. Holiday Pay h. Unused short calls, late-build short calls i. FDO Restrictions j. PBS Timeline and G-line k. Trip construction and rigs l. Assignment ladder m. Reserve to Lineholder n. Ability to preference minimum time between vacation awards.

All these are implemented before the "forced upgrades".

The way I read Long Call lines is the amount of LCL offered is based of the percentage of the Reserve lines. For simple math, lets say 100 pilots in a Category, and 20% is on reserve. So 20 pilots on reserve. Then take 15% (from the chart in 20-K-1-f-(1) ) of those on reserve and that what the company has to offer for pure LCL. So total of 3 LCL offered.

Unless one volunteers to be an early check in reserve or a Voluntary Short Call line, everyone else will be bidding “normal” reserve. So like today will begin as a long call reserve, subject to the assignment matrix.

the VSC is a totally different animal than getting an hour per unused short call.
