What’s everyone’s opinion on getting hired with a 121 initial checkride failure about 7 months ago?
Long story short, my sim partner fell asleep during the checkride (not a joke) and I blew through single engine RNAV mins. Went back the next morning and did one V1 cut to SE RNAV and was good to go. I am currently in the Aviate program but my date is years away. I have pretty good connections within United that I could lean on if I must, but trying not to do that. I'm also prior enlisted military with a good record there. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. -TPP It certainly will help to get a few more 121 rides/MVs under your belt so they can see that it was a one time thing, and not that it is going to be a pattern. Aviate also seems to slow the hiring off the street if you’re in it, so you most likely still have some time to get some more experience under your belt. Keep chugging along and best of luck. |
This thread has already gone on too long. The OP has had as much advice as any of us can give him. Now it’s up to him to “do or do not”…..

What does “years” mean? I thought it was 1600 PIC…..maybe 2 years if you crank hard?
How much total and PIC presently? |

Now they give you a “flow date”. Mine isn’t until late 2025.
Again, what are your present totals? Would you even be competitive outside of Aviate? You did mention you had this checkride 7 months ago. CA or FO? |
