Looking at the bid packets I see a decent amount of 2-3 leg days for both A/C, but the guppy trips do look a bit more polished than the Bus. Maybe learning a new plane and working less desirable trips isn't quite worth the comfy cockpit for the immediate future.

Indeed, I figured as much about the NEOs. Each morning this week I have woken up with a different mindset on A/C choice..

Ha! A new-hire friend of mine (fellow Horizon) is going to the 320 in EWR so I pulled the last award to discuss QOL. I said I see a lot of Redmond on here, do you think United stays at the No-Sleep Inn alongside the Highway? Have you gotten all the Wal-Mart and Panda you can stand?

If you were a regional pilot before United, you’ll be right at home on LeFifi. I quite enjoyed the small town layovers, but there will be those trips of 3-4 legs a day that just beat you like a rented mule. Then every now and then, they’ll crap out a 3 day trip that’s 9 legs of SFO-LAX. Fun airplane though the rest of the time. Even the hard days are easier than doing it on a guppy.

A good choice to have! I am leaning towards ripping the band-aid off.. I see the training footprint as the easier route on the 737 for sure, but after TK I really think the Bus is the place to be IMO. I also have a fondness for Redmond-type overnights, 5 minute van rides and walking the highway to the local beverage station. lol!

Yes I was speaking from my past experience at SkyWheezy. I always enjoyed taking the 175 into RDM for some reason.
I enjoyed my brief stay at SWA and am glad I was given the opportunity to learn the guppy, but I didn't log a ton of time on her before leaving for UAL.. I'm not opposed to learning fifi instead but am still having trouble deciding.

I was a Boeing lifer. (27, 37, 57, 67, 77) and came to the Bus left seat about 14 years ago. (I didn’t want to go back to guppy left seat) I have never regretted the decision. The Bus ‘thinks’ different. I ram dumped everything Boeing and accepted fifi for who she is. It took about 3 months until I was comfortable in the seat.
I’d rather fly 2-3 leg Airbus domestic vs Boeing international so I’ll retire off fifi in a couple years. Nice problem to have though, trying to decide whether to be a 73 or Airbus Captain.
