New Bases?

During our new hire indoc, one of the executives (sorry, can't remember his name) came in and spoke to us. He said that we were going to have to open some new bases in the future to meet our upcoming goals. So, to get the mill turning, what are some of your guesses of possible new bases?

ORD 777
LAX 777

I would bet my next paycheck that United does not open another true base in a long long time.

Completely shooting in the dark here..

Now that the comapny can assign NBCAs to anywhere they need them, idk if we'll see new bases. If we do still open them, I bet it'll be on the NB in SEA, PHX, and BOS. An AUS/SAT cobase actually makes sense to me too with that new MX hangar supposedly going up in SAT. On the WB I think we'll see DEN or ORD 777 and that'll be it for awhile.

I agree, the pilot group used the Contract, as they should, but it caused a massive training problem.

MCO worked because people wanted to be based there.

LAS was/is a flop. Everyone who wanted out of a seat lock bid Vegas then bid out. At first LAS looked like a success but now as time has passed they have unfilled CA and FO bids and the base has shrunk.

unless the company knows they have a location like MCO then I don’t see them ever opening another outstation base.

I'd take it to mean that they're not gonna meet their goals. 28,000 pilots? Get outta here....

DEN777 would be awesome, there's already quite a bit of 777 flying there as it is

LAS is a flop because it’s 2/3 redeye trips. And the redeyes aren’t even all at the beginning or end! There’s quite a few trips with a middle redeye. Yuck.

FLL after they get some gates from JB and Spirit

DEN 777 is the next obvious option. There are always three 777s parked there on any given bank, and the company has no fall back when a pilot falls out for whatever reason. This will happen early in 2024.

I suggest reading the CRUs. It has been explicitly addressed - no new NB bases in the foreseeable future
