haha. I know. I was toying with Breeze or something like that. SWA has been good to me but I’m also commuting coast to coast with no end in sight and I won’t be getting TPIC for a long time.

indefinite transcon commute sounds like a reason to leave, but all the big 6 generally seem pretty happy to poach from each other. IDK that adding tpic to WN FO moves the needle much

I’m assuming that you must have been RW in the military. In any case, leaving WN to get TPIC somewhere would only hurt yourself as it really wouldn’t change anything.

Correct - RW in military. They started UMMP shortly after I got out. Been to nearly every convention, couple CP M&Gs, no dice.

No, no, no, and no again. You are, arguably, at the best place to wait for your desired final destination - it will happen. Don't take the last several years hiring and compare that to now, or maybe even the future. That will lead you to do crazy things - like leave SWA for Breeze. Good God, imagine going through all the BS, sitting at Breeze, and still not getting the call. Tomorrow something could happen to shut everything down. Where do you want to be? If the answer is Breeze, and not UA, then by all means go to Breeze.

Don’t feel like you missed out on UMPP—you needed at least 1000 hours FW turbine to qualify for that anyway.

I thought when it first came out, the requirement was 500 FW (not even turbine) and they have since upped it. I could be misremembering.

I could be wrong, because I did have TPIC. But I really think my M&G was what got me the fast interview date. Had my LORs and resume in bound folders ready to hand out, had my story straight. Had very positive feedback from all the recruiters. I also did do interview prep, and I feel that made more of a difference than my experience at the interview. Berfore leaving a great career for an okay job )*, maybe do some mock interview or M&G with people that do that for a living.
Not sure from which side of the country you are commuting, but that shouldn't last forever. If you don't get out of Breeze, you will regret it fast. Free advice, you get what you pay for!

)* : Yes, upgrade could be a while at SWA, but you will earn a very good amount of money in the right seat. Schedules are good, TAFB@guarantee is probably lowest for any NB pilot. Flexibility and commutability are good/great. Only DEC position for Breeze is E190/MSY on the charter fleet. Think 11 days off, in 1 or 2 day blocks.....

What are the upgrade times at WN?

At b6, it's about 7-8 on the 220 and about 10ishh on the bus with possible downgrades coming soon

Sorry about the commute. I have tremendous sympathy. I know it isn't easy but try to remember it isn't forever. Movement will come back and you should at least be able to get based in the same time zone as your house.

I agree with the others. You have done everything you can, don't go somewhere you would want to be stuck at even less hoping it will push you over the line.
