Bingo! It’s concerning how little some of us understand about the history of our profession. If one hasn’t read flying the lines volume 1 and 2(if a United pilot, 2 is a MUST read). Confessions of a union buster is another. Lots of dirty tricks from management teams still being employed today. Can’t recommend these books highly enough.

Nope.

Hint: it’s about revenue generation, not the amount of work. A wide body flight generates more revenue in one leg than a narrow body does in several legs, mainly because of increased cargo capacity and higher ticket prices on the long-haul international legs. Further, the "1-and-done" thing is only for the crews; the jet flies around the clock, for the most part.
