Boeing is a mess. Strikes, layoffs, financial woes, management chaos, the list goes on. But most of all a new airplane being delivered no where in sight. We were supposed to be getting a new plane every other day. Boeing is losing a billion a month and Emirates is about to pull the plug on its 777x order. Boeing was the wrong horse to bet on.

"Boeing delivered 33 airplanes in September, six more than during the same period a year earlier, as the company and its customers keep an eye on the impact of a machinist strike, now in its fourth week...September deliveries also included four 787 Dreamliner planes, which are made in Boeing’s nonunion factory in South Carolina. For the month, Boeing logged 66 gross orders for new aircraft."

I hate to let facts get in the way of a rant, but Boeing is still delivering new aircraft.

AFAIK it was the pension and benefits part that they disagree on, not pay rates.

The Boeing's promise to make the next airplane in Seattle is also empty as it is only good for four years. It is doubtful Boeing will be making any new models in the next four years.

Here is a good recap of how it got to this ugly point at Boeing. As we say, companies get the unions they deserve.
