Did I make a mistake?
Back in September 2023, I received CJOs from both Delta and United. I’m based in the Chicagoland area and ultimately chose Delta, primarily because their class date was two weeks earlier than United’s. I’m currently commuting to DTW, but I’m not interested in relocating. Lately, I’ve been wondering if should have chosen United instead?
Thanks for any insight. |

Thanks for any insight. Live in Chicagoland but commute to DTW? In that situation I’d probably just reapply to United because I hate commuting. So much so I’d probably apply to American too… |
I don't know, did you?

You live in a hub for 3 of the big 4 airlines and chose to work at the one that doesn’t have a base there?
Everyone wants something different from this job and to each their own, but just think about that. Having only commuted for a short time, I would change careers before I willingly commuted for the rest of my career. Seniority is everything in this job, but no way in hell is two weeks worth a lifelong commute. |

Troll post? If it's not, that it feels like one is telling.

Thanks for any insight. Were there people 2 years ago (mentors, friends, family, and/or even APC) giving you advice. If so, I highly doubt they would have told you to go to Delta if you were so tied to ORD, so why did you ignore advice? It is not the decision I would have made, but you are kind of stuck with it now. This is likely not the first bad decision you have made, so you are just gonna have to count this one among the others. Upside is you are still on the seniority list of the highest paying Airline in America that is #1 in the industry. |

I’m trying to understand your situation. Were you willing to relocate then but not now?
