TLV and DXB
Cancelation of Tel Aviv flights for a week, and Dubai flights until Thursday. Certainly predictable given today's news. What do we think the chances are that the suspension will be extended for both or one of those destinations. Furthermore (this also is going into Geopolitics and foreign relations but even Riddle grads know a thing or two about that) what other acute or chronic negative outcomes do you see from as a result of this?........or does anybody see positive (for United and its pilots) outcomes from this.....
Let's take some calls: |

Let's take some calls: in other words nothing positive (except for the pay protected pilots) and nothing negative (except 4 popular trips missing from the bid pack). |
Let’s see what happens to the price of oil on Monday. Brent Crude closed at $72.48 on Friday, up 19% already for the year. This can quickly go into the negative column as the price of jet fuel skyrockets.

Can’t speak for Dubai, but is TLV not the 787?……I remember decades ago it was on the triple but I believe EWR at least is 787.

OPEC is already increasing production, the other Middle East countries won’t tolerate it, and what’s left of Iran/IRGC doesnt have the ability to shut down the straight. The tanker they attacked in the gulf of Oman, was a sanctioned Iranian tanker (their own) that had been at anchor for over a week. It’s all show. Relax the sky isn’t falling. Whatever happens will be short term. Profit sharing hit the PRAP just in time, Monday is gonna be a great buying opportunity. |
