Probably Hegseth.

Out of the last 8 legs I've done, 7 of them had less than half the cabin occupied by paying pax. I hope that's just this time of year (traditionally slow), but even looking at both Hawaii trips I have over the next few days, we have 60+ open seats on every leg. I can't remember the last time I did any of the islands (which is nearly all my flying) in which we had anything more than 2--3 open seats.

Hopefully this is just temporary. Hopefully.

The price of a physical barrel of oil today is much higher than what oil prices in financial markets suggest.

At some point this will fix itself, and the “price” of oil we all watch will have to increase as supply is still down and demand is mostly constant.

I also think we will start seeing actual jet fuel shortages is the month of May.

I just finished a 5 leg, 4 day. All the flights were 95% plus full.

Have had very few open seats (if any) on almost all my flights recently. I did hear Hawaii tourism is way down, but that was before Iran kicked off.

Very Fair question.

"Next time someone tries to convince you of something, look at what they do, not what they say" Famous Buddhist quote.
Essentially actions speak louder than words.
Furloughs, downgrades...typically you can see them coming before they are announced you will notice this through management actions or inactions......not because some Angry Boomer Captain who's hungry for some shadenfreunde....tells you about what he heard from his buddy who was at the standards meeting.
