Why do the pilots give a flying fork about the granular level of these numbers? We have zero to do with it. As long as we keep getting top dollar in the industry(we are) and can reasonably expect the company to be able to continue to pay us, I don’t give a hoot about all the nerd math. Those that like to tell each other “my airline can beat up your airline” are silly. We’re all just cost units to the C suite. Nothing more.

it’s telling that when a post is made in the UAL forum about our Q1 impressive results, a bunch of Delboys come in to shout about how great they are.

Their employer is their identity and they’re insecure about their success.

dunno. ask friendlypilot. he/she seems to get pretty jacked up about the numbers and who’s #1. either his bonus is tied to it or his entire life is wrapped up in it.
