Not being facetious.....any truth to that info?? If so, I don't 'think' he'll gain much support in his campaign....GOD, at least I 'hope'.

I believe Rice's policy depends on who is asking the question. If he is in a room full of pilots in favor of raising the age the he too would be in favor. When in a room full of anti raising the age again the he would be against the change.

Now the big question is what does he actually support? He current holds a 400 Capt bid at UA. Even though the last airplane he actually flew was the 767. Guessing he hasn't turned a wheel at UAL since 2001. Ironic that he stopped flying about the time we took the big pay cuts. Raising the age would provide him with greater longevity to keep earning the 300k a year ALPA salary. So, just like all ALPA leaders he will support the change because it directly benefits HIM. Hate to be the constant ALPA buzz kill, but I have seen this movie too many times not to know the ending.

Whatever you do, don't ask him why he gets the ALPA housing allowance to rent a place in Herndon when he lives in Northern Virginia suburbs anyhow. It adds up to serious chunk of change and he will rip your head off for bringing it up, justifying how he deserves it and then starts attacking you for not doing all he has for the pilots.

Lambourne,

Just take a look at Howard Attrarian. He rode the ALPA gravy train under Worthless. "A Train" was a NWA "command pilot" who logged 800 or so hours in 20 years. It's like crystal meth for these guys.

Long ways from the original post but this is for Jason...

You obviously need to be reminded:
- UAL ACQUIRED/TOOK OVER CAL - Not a simple stock swap as management and you would love for us to believe!
- We have 78 wide bodies - you have 22
- We have 132 75/767s - you have 88
- We have 152 Airbuses - you have 238 737s - this pretty much says you are a narrow body airline
- We have 50 787/350s on order with 100 options - you have 25 78s with NO options
- We have longevity and REAL career expectations - you have a happy work force

Sir, please do not think for a moment that just because your workforce is apparently happy we are going to somehow give you the golden goose. FAR FAR from it my ALPA brother.

You will not get relative seniority - you are dreaming my friend!

this from another board...

I'll let the merger committee nerds argue about the rest, but I'm proud to see that this UAL pilot considers the CAL pilot group HAPPY CLAPPY. Maybe we should do something more hard core then FUPM bands. Hey CAL guys as of April 16th of next year all non international guys should stop wearing their HATS! Yeah management what are you gonna do about that!
