Just a rumor I "heard", since Jeffery & Glenn got 'phat' new raises, they are offering to kick in some of their own $$ on the purchase of these a/c for the new route.
"Phat" fo shizzle!

Although I can't attest to the timeliness of this information, it appears we have up to 6 400's in the desert. United Airlines Fleet | Airfleets aviation

Take note of the stored Guppies.

I think that info is really dated, pretty sure they aren't still paying to store DC 10's. I believe that 6 400's were parked. One was already removed and is back and on the line, and I think one is being reconfigured to return to the line leaving four parked.

My take on this is that the government was about to be exposed for granting SWA the EWR slots, and this was a way to quelch the hard feelings. Just my opinion......................

A,

You are correct. One of the 400's is flying between ord and sfo. That still leaves four. Do they pull a couple of those out or just rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic?

Exactly. They hope to dupe us into paying for an employee purchased plane just like managment did to the DL folks back in the late 90's.
