The one manpower positive I see for UAL is going to a 6 month PC/PT cycle this year.

on that note..i heard that at CAL the pc's were on days off...is that true? I find that hard to believe..could be just someone flameing out.

Yes he was right they are pre-loaded into PBS so they are blocked days and they can reduce your 12 days off min when you have training.

Yes it's true. And it's a Festivus Miracle to be working under such an agreement 2 years past it's amendable date. With that in mind I'd like to wish the warmest season greetings to the POS that sold this garbage to the 57% of our gullible losers who bought it. Let's toast to you losing your management job as result of this merger in the New Year. As The Who rocked; "We won't get fooled again!"

I am not being critical in the next comment....did the pilot group not realize this when they voted for this in the contract or did the company pull a "loophole" type thing on you.

But on a more optimistic view: Hopefully that is one of the items to address in the new contract so that cannot happen, which will also lead to increased manpower..small but we will take anything we can get now.

The one thing that you can be sure of is that if it costs one cent more, Jeffy and friends will not be doing it. Look for a once a year PC cycle ala CAL.

No loopholes, just a lot of unwritten pages. What we voted on was an incomplete document with a whole bunch of TBD's in it. For instance, the PBS section basically was a blank sheet of paper with a few guidelines.

Yes these are the guys you'll be working with side by side who would actually vote yes on a contract with blank sections in it. I found it astounding that it passed when we voted on it and still can't believe people could be so stupid and misled.

Not sure old Jeffy will have the choice. The rumor here is that the FAA wants it that way due to the volume of changes.

Of course, it's a TK rumor so you almost guarantee it's wrong

No, he pilot group had no idea because it was all wrapped up in the PBS enigma, details of which were not available when we voted on the contract. We did know that a PBS system would take into account training, vacation, etc., but we did not know training would cost us a day off. Currently, our days off can be reduced to 11 from 12 for training under our current contract and PBS.
