And its no surprise that EVERY CAL furloughee was recalled ASAP but bring back a UAL furloughee? Well, you may have the chance of being "hired" within a year or so.
Sorry, couldn't resist - now, I run- anybody need to borrow some kneepads? KC :p The adage "if CAL had UAL workrules they'd need another 1,000 pilots instantly" I hope comes true in the next contract and they have to hire all the furloughs back in one fell swoop. If we get CAL's workrules in the JCBA it will be a very grim day for all of us, furloughed or not. |

If you think that your new management team has any concern or loyalty for any pilot, furloughed or not, or that the CAL union has any ability to affect the outcome of the company's staffing decisions, you will soon find out otherwise. CAL is understaffed and always has been.

I agree. Just seemed like awhile since we had any vigorous SLI debates on here. Thought I'd poke the bear!

When a JCBA TA is ratified by the MECs, the SLI clock will start ticking. That clock is approximately 6 months in duration. IOW, the list will be finished app. 6 months after the MECs ratify a TA (not when the pilot groups ratify).
Given, the spike in fuel prices and the recently announced capacity cuts, my guess is that contract negotiations are on hold and any TA is many months away, maybe even into 2012. No TA equals no SLI. But with SOC coming in October we will look more like USAirways, with two separate pilot groups with two separate contracts. Separate and unequal. :( |

Exactly, so no need to worry aout the SLI anytime soon. Who knows when there will be a contract, we may see more furloughs before anything else. |
