"CAL mgt has been on record saying the 747 is too large for our route structure and they cannot consistently fill the airplane"

Ironically they, UAL/CAL (Jeff) mgt has been over in France looking at the 380 and, according to insiders, there is a market for the airplane in the UAL/CAL route structure. Oh well just rumors and I think the real issue with the 747-400 is it is getting old and therefore maint. cost are going up.

Get a "free" 380, as is typical of Airbus, for a few years?

I was just going by some of the statements in the press recently. I kind of feel like the 400 has this guy hanging over it's head.

Delta has a 5 year "fence" on the heavy's from SOC date per Arbitrator SLI decision. Could be more or less years at UnicaL.

CAL gets 787 in 2012.
UAL gets 350 in 2015.

.
Delta's fence was not on all widebodies, just the 777 for the NW guys and the 747 for the Delta guys.

Check the 8K filings. The CAL 787's are growth a/c and the UAL 350's are replacement. That will be a factor!

None of his matters until there is JCBA, would be nice to put forth all efforts on that!

Fences are inversely proportional to DOH. The closer to DOH the ISL becomes the more fences. The further from DOH the ISL becomes the less fences.

Is that factored using the Pythagorean Theorem, or just straight up Quadratic Formula???
