For CAL. Anyone have any insight about it? They just had one a couple of weeks ago.

I wondered the same thing. Is this a town hall for questions or a type of breaking news announcement. Traditionally these have all been typical town hall type question answer events that were scheduled in advance.

So many things going on,

Staffing issues regarding cnx flights and the company pr blaming sick calls.
The 762 scope grievance.
201 furloughs from United being recalled to CAL.
Rumor about Jeff leaving.
Contract progress.

should be interesting but I never remember a town hall being called with 24 hr notice.

There was some 2nd hand communication last week (someone got an email from a union rep) which indicated a "standby for news" event or info coming up. I wonder if this is it.

I'm probably wrong but don't count of Jeff leaving any time soon.

Unless the board or the financiers (the ones who actually made the UAL/CAL deal happen) are really unhappy with him it would be a fatal sign to replace him so soon.

Now in my fantasy the announcement will be a unilateral contract from Management. But I was having a pizza dream at the time.

All the events of the last week being over viewed: earnings, scope arbitration (block hour flying and selling of 767-200), staffing, alleged sick-out press coverage, USAirways' court filing against USAPA for slow-down. Lots of time discussing the economic situation of the country and the airline industry. Talks about our PRASM improvements and analysts forecasts of huge profits for CAL-UAL for 2011.

I heard some people talking on the town hall about how the union should be publically critizing management for poor stock performance. Unfortunately, a look at the year to date stock performance of UAL compared to other airlines shows that UAL management is doing quite well on a relative basis.
