(Nov 99 hire) I will post if I hear..

I agree totally Bandera. They should not go back on the TA. Let all of the people that want to bypass do so and give the involuntary furlough guys a chance at the classes because they all (folks who bypass) have to wait 30 days.

I agree, its black and white, nothing grey. If I bypass because of a class full of EWR 757, Do I get to take the next class too? $hit, its just 30 days, not like all the slots to CAL will be gone. And they will still be senior to those who took the jobs. I don't see what the issue is.

Concur. It's clear in the TA that you must wait 30 days. I don't plan on taking the job if offered but I'm not sure it will get to me anyway(May '00). I would like to know if you could accept but then go on a Personal LOA.

I would say they will not let you take a personally leave. I know 3 people that have recently asked to take leaves and they were told that we're not offering those right now. But you could take a military leave.

You should ask your furlough coordinator to get an accurate answer though.

Thanks for the info.

Coming up on a month since they announced the job opportunities at CO and no calls yet. I do hope they start calling this week. As always nothing we can do but wait and see what happens. Good luck to those that will take the job offer and let's hope for a great contract with SCOPE and longevity pay for our time away.

I'm starting to wonder if it was a PR ploy just to distract everyone. They'll continue to limp through the summer with low staffing and when flying rolls back in the fall, they will say they will not need to hire as much because the demand is not there.

Just my thoughts of course... Am I out in left field?

Looks like they are coming on a somewhat tight timeline to fill an October 4th class. Unlike a recall, they need a month to send out all the PRIA paper work since we are technically new hires from another airline. They have to give the former employers a timeframe to fill out and return the record requests. They have to complete background checks on all that accept the positions, which includes all the new hire BS including fingerprinting and new TSA BS that wasnt around when we were hired by UA.

All this will take at least 30 days considering they have already made job offers, given the people a reasonable amount of time to make a decision on weather they want to take them and uproot their families, and potententially move to Guam.

They are tightening their own timeline three weeks after their announcment of intentions, squabbling over details that have already been agreed to. My prediction? I don't have one, but they are screwing things up and backing themselves in a corner to fill an October 4 class if they dont get their rear in gear this week!

According to the bid, there was additional flying in 2012. But if I was a betting man, I'd say somebody was told to get some more warm bodies on the call list in time for the holidays. You know.....cold and flu season. ;):D

lets be clear on one thing.. I am not gonna HOPE for a great contract with SCOPE protection.. I am going to DEMAND it and FIGHT for it...are you? This is getting old for all of us..but for me the taste of throw up in my mouth just makes my resolve even tougher...FUPM.
