Default CAL hiring and the SLI shuffle

Okay, time for another round of pilots' favorite game, Gross Speculation.

Today's question: How will the SLI be impacted by the fact that senior furloughees are bypassing the CAL job offer and those junior to them are accepting it?

SUB-question: Is there a grandfathered 'seniority list snapshot as of Oct 1st, 2011' boning in the offing, will everyone on the property when the music stops be cushioned by a giant staple job of those of our fraternal brothers still on the streets, or will there be some Clintonesque, lower lip biting, thumb pointing 'third way' worked out?

Yes, this is the type of stuff I think about whilst whiling another day away in Cubicleville.

Nothing is affected by who does or doesn't accept the offer, regardless of UAL seniority. Per the TPA regarding SLI: a hired furloughed pilot's seniority is solely determined by his seniority position at the originating airline.

Irrelevant, this question has been asked many times already. This has been addressed in FAQ emails to pilots. The answer is nothing.

Understand the seniority is based on whichever airline you started out with, but has it also been spelled out that it won't make a difference whether you're on the property or on the street when the seniority list integration rhumba begins?

If this has been stated it will factor in on my decision to take the CAL job should offers get all the way down to us lowly Aug 00 hires.

Please tell me where so I can get a copy and put it in my hope chest with my application to the space program, my Fender Stratocaster, and the captain epaulettes I was given by a retiring captain in 2001 because, "You're going to need these in a couple of years."

Yes! Please email or call your furlough coordinator to get another copy of the TPA if you've lost the one sent out.
