Mix and Match Non-rev question
#1
My wife is gearing up to attempt the Mother of All Non-Revs: Norfolk, Chicago, Hawaii, Guam, Manila.
The flights all the way to Guam are on United United and the Guam-Manila leg is on Continental United.
Question: Does she have to pick up her checked suitcase in Guam, recheck it, switch terminals, etc or will she be able to check it all the way through to the Motherland on our almost seemless, nearly integrated, soon to be SOC'd operation?
Realize the real answer is she's going to get stuck in Chicago and her bag will get routed to Raratonga where airport security personnel will detonate it in place on the ramp, but, hypothetically, can she and her bag get there from here without seeing one another again along the way?

Hypothetically if she is able to make the entire listing on a single PNR the bag should make it all the way with a single check-in. But that's not possible yet, is it? (i.e. She has to list on CO and UA separately, no?)

Non-rev bags don't move from UAL to CAL YET. Wish they did!

Not anymore. With United running HNL-GUM on the 777 the flights have gone from around 50 NRSA's to about 17 with far more empty seats. Not sure about getting to HNL, although it is the same equipment / flight number.

Wifey AND her bags made it to Manila without incident. The gate agent in Norfolk was extremely helpful and did indeed check both bags all the way through on the mix and match itinerary of United ORF-ORD-HNL-GUM and Continental GUM-MNL.

Haven't gotten the bill yet. She rode in coach all the way from ORF-ORD-HNL-GUM on L-UAL so I'm hoping it was all no charge.
The GUM-MNL leg was on U-Con. When I listed her a screen popped up that said something to the effect of, "if you hit the confirm button you are going to be billed $44".
This is our first try at this, so I don't know if that's what's going to happen. I listed for business class but it filled up so she got a seat in the back.
