the FAA sorted through over 600 operating manuals and approves what THEY wanted Not just what the compant wanted. We now have 179 operating volumes and over 10K
pages of documents still for the FAA to review. Until the IT stuff is resolved with the Electronic log book we won't be finished. The flight proceedures are NOT the overriding factor. Dispatch will be integrating this winter Maint.Control not until next May if ever and then everything will be changed again when we all move to an even NEWER system.
There's no way in HELL anybody could have forseen what date the SOC was coming.
And even AFTER SOC none of this integreation will be even STARTED much less Finished
The FAA inspector we talked to said that even Delta and Northwest aren't even close to finished integrating yet. so this might take another 2-3 years to complete which includes the A350's and the UAL ordered 787's and possibly the 747-8's..

In my opinion...this attempt to cherry pick the cheapest procedure from each airline is just dragging the whole merger out. Wondering if it really saves anything in the long run. As it is now....I'm carrying more confusing paperwork now than I ever have. FUPM

Felt sorry for the PMNW guys having to learn all of the DAL stuff to get the SOC done quick! Thank god we are at a point now where the good PMNW procedures and policies are starting to get to the line. DELTA of course stands for " Do Everything like the Amish! So I would agree to just pick one get er done then cherry pick later. Seemed to work out for DAL, I even forgot about all the b*tchin that went on on both sides of the fence.

I don't care if it ever gets done. So much the better if Jeffy's bonus goes up in smoke. I just wanna know when the FAA is going to rubber stamp this train wreck so I can get the call sign right. Preflight call sign mantra; "UNITEDXXX, UNITEDXXX, UNITEDXXX..."

Interesting. I heard that Boeing offered UA a killer deal on the 747-8, but then also heard it was placed on the back burner.

Yep, supposedly at the end of the month it will be complete and we will use the United call sign 1 December.

Another item is that the rumor is that QTR 1, the Airbus will be coming to IAH and a lot of the 737s go to ORD a little to DEN and a lot to LAX once the T&PA expire. Whether they displace all to create hate and discontent or just build trips as through flight will yet to be determined.

Interesting times.
