An interesting observation from this thread......when it's a bunch of relatively junior guys (who the SLI probably affects most directly), a consensus forms pretty quickly and there seems to be a willingness to settle on neutral ground. As soon as a few of these senior wackos get involved it becomes a ****ing match, winner take all. It gives me some hope that this'll be a decent place to work in 10-15 years.

I know most of you guys don't want a staple job, anymore than I'd want a DOH situation. It is not right. Problem is, and we all know it, both of our MC's will argue from these extreme positions, giving the arbitrator a pretty wide range to miss and get it wrong, in my opinion. It is basic arbitration theory, the closer the sides are going into arbitration the more equitable the decision. Sorry, I don't buy into the theory floating around here that it is all out of hands. BS! It is and will be in the hands of our elected reps.

You may be right. I thought I had read that the seniority integration was to be completed within 90 days of a TA but I checked and don't see that written anywhere in the TPA.
