Blacklisting a domain at the router level is pretty straight forward. Doing so without creating other problems is a more sensitive issue.

No, not really, it should be quite straight forward. However, I feel strongly that this is a Council decision and our LEC has the control since we pay for it.

Why don't you contact Dave and volunteer your time? Since you know how to fix the problem...

I do know how to fix the problem, but I need more information.

If anyone has the URL's that the iPads use to update, I can then take it to the council, then block the sites. I don't have an iPad and when I get one, I don't plan on using it, except maybe as a remote control for my TV.

Yeah, free app from Comcast, and I'm sure UAL will enjoy all the web sites the kids will use. I'm sure Cartoon Network will be right up there.

Still need the URL's for the iPad updates if anyone can sleuth them out.

The old why don't you volunteer your time is not an effective rebuttal in this case. This is not a time issue. This is not even a complicated issue. But hey, when you have nothing else, throw it out there and see if it will stick.

The solution is quite simple and I'm sure that Dave is more than capable. Hsld's remark of underlying issues is what I'm curious about. More of an education for myself in that respect.

United's computer system has sites blocked. It's not rocket science.

Also, my respect to Dave for not wanting to make a unilateral decision on this issue. We all know how unilateral decisions from the past have impacted us.
