May want to confirm this as well from one of your LEC Reps......
The same LEC Rep I spoke with yesterday did say when addressing the option mentioned above, there are some other periphery variables in the equation that throw "kinks" in the process preventing the meeting to "just happen" with a finger-snap. He said when looking at the CAL vs UAL MEC's "P and Ps", there are some 'differences' in how each MEC conducts business/meeting/ect.....NOT having all "P and Ps" be identical, this did have some challenges when making the aforementioned meeting "just happen".....but NOT insurmountable.
I would think ALPA v ALPA would be seamless?? See what you can find out on your end concerning that topic as well.

Hey.....It's obvious we DON'T agree on everything, but there is one thing that rings common from both sides, we ALL are fed up with the Ego's/Politics/Games as MGT just sits back-smiles-reaps the $$. If we the "line pilots" don't start asking questions, and pressing angles, this will go no where.

Kinks like Jay P. demanding that the UAL MEC drop that profit sharing grievance against the company before he gets on board or meets?

Here is another great example of the type of question we should all be asking our reps! If I were a CAL pilot I would DEFINITELY want to know if this was true!

Whatcha got "Boxer"??? You presenting these as HARD facts, or just more untethered frustration by way of "He said, She said"? Believe me......I have plenty of the lighter (frustration).....Not in need of another helping.

Pierce is the one who mentioned that he set stipulation(s) for the meeting...he should be the one to tell his constituents what those were.

Couple of things when it comes to MEC meetings on the CAL Side.
The Wed after Jay H dropped the Release Bomb on the CAL Side, I spoke with my FO Rep for about an hour. One thing I mentioned was the lack of a message countering the UAL message.
The answer I got was that after an issue with a MEC Phone Call meeting years ago dealing with a major LOA, the MEC has a policy that there has to be meetings for almost all major business. That means the pilots from Guam have to make it in for the meeting, and everyone needs to rearrange their schedules since most are NOT on full time FPL. (another sore subject, as I would put both the FO and Capt Reps on 15 day FPl each month to deal with all this crap!)
So.. Friday was the first time everyone would be able to get together. I would think that making a Phone Call Meeting would have been justifiable.
Another thing. I had requested to attend a UAL Council meeting in LGA with a UAL bud from my squadron. Request denied. Your Rep felt it probably wouldn't be a good meeting to attend.. after the Pro Share issue. I have also offered to bring some of the UAL guys to my local meeting, and I know that we have had UAL pilots at the EWR meetings. Plus, now that we have Furloughed UAL Pilots on the CAL list, they are eligible to attend our meetings. Weird, huh.
At this point, we need to somehow get the line of comm open between the pilots.. beside the MEC's!
We should ALL be able to read ALL the MEC News, the LEC Briefs and everything else that both of our Unions put out. This is all bull**** and except for those lucky few who either know a bunch of guys on the other side or might be married to someone from the other side.... we are being kept in the dark about what our fellow Union Brothers & Sisters are being fed by their respective sides~
Time for change

JP did not say the UAL MEC should drop the grievance. What he said was that the grievance should be done using the procedures agreed to in the TPA and that Heppner should agree to abide by whatever is ruled, i.e. not file a lawsuit if it does not go UAL MECs way.
