Delta TA Overview

Just an old retired guy but, the market determines everything. You aren't going to stop it if the rest of the industry is already there.

Don't be confused by the economic arguments, they may be all true, but they do not matter to pilots. Someone is going to sit in the seats of whatever management decides to buy. It is only about who will fly them and who has the best chance to maximize compensation.
Management knows us very well. They know that DAL is there foot in the door for pattern bargaining. DAL pilots gave them two pilots on the DC9 undercutting the ALPA 3 man policy. They were first with RJ's and now the expansion to 76 seat small jets, without even having the BK gun to their head. In fairness, they have a culture that has never said no to their management. It is in their non-confrontational southern DNA. They will take the money without regard for the carnage they will create in the rest of the industry. Funny thing though, what goes around comes around. Save your quote, you will be able to use it again...10 years from now.

That's a broad statement, there were many that saw it coming, but greed won the day. In fact, the expansion of the RJ-two tier was voted on by the membership, and it passed by 60%+. Remember the argument, "I came here to fly the heavy metal" or "it's widebodies or RJ's." So, as it was pointed out, this is this generations opportunity to say no. Will that happen, not likely. Greed is why the profession is suffering.

How often has any pilot group rejected a TA if their MEC recommended that it be passed? How often has any MEC forwarded a TA with a recommendation that it not be passed? I think the answer to both questions is "Rarely".

YOU heard it here first folks.
First: This merger is all about scope.
Second: This CBA is all about taking away 90-100 seat flying.
The 70+/- seat RJ issue is a crowbar if you will to move the mountain in 4-6 years to further allow management to erode more mainline jobs and bid them out to regionals at the lowest cost possible. They will use the regionals against each other, and let them cut each other's throats to fight over the crumbs that fall from the mainline table.
If you will be in this career for anything longer than 10 years you need to be aware of management's true intentions so that you can plan for the future. If you need to get another career, or another job, or stay in the guard/reserve, etc, then be ready for what the future really holds.
This is not a prediction, but a promise. You vote yes for relaxation of scope, management will make a full court press to steal the 90-100 seats from you under a republican administration.

If the fact that Jeffery was so gitty about this TA he went full on Joesph Goebbels doesn't tell you something then we are all BONED! "The market" is getting reset by lawyering up the DAL scope clause and throwing them a few shillings...
