The tone of those two updates is strikingly different.
is one of these guys a union rep for the charmin toilet paper company or something? Why the soft, cozy, and comforatable aproach. The other letter was written by the guy who represents the Louisina Alligator Hunters Associaiton. I want the guy that say "shoot 'em" writing my letters to the NMB. Screw that toilet paper rep, lets send that guy back to the line. |

At any rate, looking forward to standing shoulder to shoulder with ALL my fellow pilots when the NMB has finally had enough of co-worker Jeff's LIES. |
"While we did not reach an agreement in principle (AIP) for the JCBA on June 15, it does not mean we were defeated in our goal of reaching a deal in an expeditious fashion. Like a game that is not yet decided at the final buzzer, we are now heading into overtime."
Overtime? Jay, your kidding right? I suppose the past 3.5 years was "regular play"? LOOK PEOPLE, there is not even an Agreement In Principle from your employer. They are saying "GO POUND SAND, WE DON"T RECOGNIZE YOU AS A PROFESSIONAL AND WE DO NOT VALUE YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS TO THIS ORGANIZATION ENOUGH TO TAKE YOUR REQUESTS FOR A NEW CBA SERIOUSLY. WE WILL GET TO YOU......NEVER." JAY. GET US RELEASED. |

Scope and pay are the two hardest sections to negotiate. The other sections are a cake walk. If those two sections are open, you are no closer to an agreement than you were when the merger was announced.

I think you will be waiting 6 months or 8 years and 6 months for a release.
6 month wait: B.O. gets elected to a second term... If you think a barely hanging on 1 term Dem and a Senate that is a sliver away from losing its majority is going to let a bunch of pilots put 70,000+ other people out of work with a strike less than 6 months before the election you are probably smoking some good stuff. The company would probably settle at the last minute before midnight on day 30, but the current politicians can't risk it. 8 years and 6 months: What happens if MR wins the presidency.... A Rep. Pres. in his first term isn't going to release you. The next four years is to hope that MR doesn't get reelected and you get a Dem in the WH who makes it to a second term and will not be at risk for losing re-election..... At that point you might be able to get a release. The politicians control this process, and unless they feel that their re-election prospects are safe, we will not get what we want. The RLA has screwed the employees. |
