EWR-LHR, FRA, MUC are all 8 hourish rides, EWR-TLV 10-12.

I have got to change airlines! Your widebody guys ALL fly 25 hour plus 3 day trips???? Thats amazing schedules. Can't be done domestic and there are only a few international routes over 12 doubled crewed that might do that. Do you have incredible duty rigs for the widebodies or is there something else I am missing that allows them ALL such great trips?

no duty rigs.

International wide body trips are usually very productive.

Newark to Naraita, Houston to Narita, Telaviv, Bombay, Delhi, China,

All that stuff is all you do when you get on the B777.

At some point we likely all aspire to fly wide body airplanes on premium routes. I have been on the B777 for six years and I love it. I used to dread going to work as I burned out something awful doing domestic.

When you go long haul two things will happen. YOu will value your time because finally you get paid for your time and your time away from base is minimized, and you start to get very protective of your time off.

They are long - long days, but to me it is worth it. I like being productive with my time and I like to have my time off when I am done with a long trip.

So can we count on your NO vote because the domestic slobs, especially those on reserve will have NO time free. They can steal a day off any time they want and reschedule you at will. Fly you into days off, VACA....whatever.

Thanks for your support!

On the sUAL side, a vacation drop pays full credit, borrowing from next year's vacation. Instead of taking annual vacation at 2.8hrs/day, I can now drop a 7:30 one-day turn and be paid the full 7:30. For this drop, I use one vacation day from next year. In the TA, each of next year's vacation days are worth only 3.25. To drop this same one-day turn, they will still pay me 7:30, but they will take away 2.31 vacation days from next year. (7.5 / 3.25 = 2.31). ....and the guys over 25 years had their annual vacation reduced from 44 days to 42.
