So, are all these United 787 crews just sitting at home getting paid while these airplanes are grounded? Must be nice.

Is there an editorial coming? What would you have them do? Load bags? Shovel snow? Wax leading edges? Shampoo carpets in the maint hanger? Shipset revisions? Mow the grounds at Willis? Push brooms? Spoon out fake mashed potatoes in the cafeteria in ORD? Drive the crew lot bus? Drive one of the 500 Gimpcarts in Houston? Put on a tie, back slap and troll ops while looking for hats and un-shined shoes? Wire up the spy cams on ORD? Stand with a clip board and monitor how long the APU runs after the GPU is plugged in? Man the stop watches in the ramp tower as planes start and taxi out? When all the X-Ray machines go down at Dr Killdare General do all the bone docs suit up and scrub floors? Just curious. THEY manage, we fly. Pretty simple. Check license. James out. ps. SoCalGuy, GOOD FOR YOU! And if my read is 180 degrees out, please excuse my exuberant reply. I'm sick of hearing how great this job is and my skin is growing thin. |

Based on some of their employee numbers, the 83 hires are probably volunteering to fly right seat of the 777 to help out the company. |
