Phase 6...start of trip
How many Capts do you think will meet their FOs 1 hr prior to push for planning purposes as phase 6 states?

I'm looking forward to all the A320's doing a :45 report after the first leg, and getting Sabre flight plans done...

The FOM says 'should' meet...not 'must'...I'll be there 1 hour prior as I have always done but I'm not waiting around for anyone...I'll be at Starbucks after 10 minutes in the FPA

Trip verification means you know you have a trip and you checked in for the thing. You are an adult so you know you have a responsibility to be there. I'll show up, check my v-file, make sure iPad is updated, check pilot bulletins and then check paperwork/weather in E-Sign & Fly. After that I'll proceed to get the required body fuel (i.e. coffee) and get to the airplane. If the captain hasn't shown up by 30 minutes to go, I'll make a call to operations. |

Well, Ok, you got me. I was tired and it was late.
However, even that is not that important any more. In SFO our Chief pilot and one of his asistants are saying, that the FOM and FM are just guide lines...don't really have to follow them to the letter. Who'd a thought? |

Obviously the contract must be enforced and the FOM is the source of the SOP (standard optional procedures...from my short stint at CAL). The CPOs seem to have very little credibility around here. My latest question is about something that was on CCS the other day. It said the implementation of the crew meals has been delayed and don not delay a flight working this issue. Is that not 100% false? Didn't ALPA just send out a blast mail that said they have not conceded anything wrt crew meals? It goes along with the EWR CP interpreting the crew rest seats. I quit reading their propaganda. |

Check Section 4-A-2 to see if you/your crew are due a crew meal/snack 2. Check the Company spreadsheet to see what the Company intends to board 3. During the crew briefing, determine if what you are due per Section 4-A-2 is onboard 4. If an item is missing, purchase items through Buy on Board or in the terminal, and submit the expense for reimbursement. If there is a discrepancy between what is due and what is on board, document and submit with your expense report. Note: In the case where you end up at altitude without your crew meal/snack, obtain the item at your destination and submit the receipt. |
