Default A350

Here it comes......I guess the CAL side will have to amend their testimony.....

By The Associated Press

Airbus says its newest plane will fly for the first time on Friday.

The new A350 will take off from an airport near Paris on Friday morning. The company says the plane is getting its final checks before getting the green light for the flight.

The A350 will compete with Boeing's new 787 as well as the 777. Both the 787 and the new A350 are more fuel-efficient than predecessors and will be used for long-haul flights.

The A350 still needs flight testing before it can be delivered to airlines. Airbus has booked orders for more than 600 of the planes. U.S. customers include United Continental Holdings Inc. and Hawaiian Airlines.

Airbus is aiming to begin deliveries in the second half of next year.

Would it be possible to have a French secretary sit on my desk? Attractive, slim, athletic, appropriately attired or course.

Bring on the 350 and the FS!

The B787 first flew on Dec 15, 2009. I wouldn't get too excited just yet.

You're kidding right - "Sparkies" was in trouble day one. How many days was the whole fleet grounded again?

Nope, but Katz also said the plane did not even exist, and the CAL witness agreed (I forget which one), despite the fact that #1 was already assembled.

"Sparkies" does one thing "giant-model" can't do: Fly with revenue.

And it will have several years of additional experience.

True, true. "Sparkies" doesn't have a table up front.

I was not commenting on any ISL slants, just the fact that there will be delays and hiccups in the program just based on history, and especially recent history with the last two major new designs with the 787 and 380.

Unlike the 737s delivered post merger announcement to date, the A350s will come, and ALL will bid on them. (temp. fences excepted). The SLI is forever. Post merger deliveries are post merger deliveries. Remember that when the award is published.
