True that!!! Lots to be proud of, Continental was a great company, hope as United we get back there someday soon, new management would help. I think we have a lot of potential.

You can have the award, I'll take the $$.

I figured that would be your answer!!;) Spellcheck is more important than content to you!! At least I hope it was my spelling that you were talking about. And not that you don't know what a "accolade" is!!

So what s your point???
Take your embraer FO expertise and go work in Asia, see how that works out for you

CAL was a great airline, for about 3 years. It was crap for the previous 25. UAL can pick lots of 1-3 year periods where we were #1. Who cares. We are not there now. Either airline.

As far as "great" Asian airlines, that was obviously spoken by someone who never worked for one or understands them. They wouldn't survive 6 months in the US marketplace. They were started and run by connected sons, nephews, and cousins., and subsidized by their uncles and daddy's in the government.

Wait a minute. Isn't that how Smallsack got where he is?

Maybe I need to re-think this.

You need to think - think or at least ask pierce what to think.

The sad part isn't the article. I mean everyone knows United has gone from marginal to worst in the last two years because of a failure in leadership and the results of this "leadership" are the siblings stabbing each other in the backs to arrive at the liquidation first on the list. To get a reality check on this thoigh, go ahead and scroll down and look at some of the comments from United (previous) customers. It makes the article look like a fan boy worship piece on United compared to what the customers think. If you think, "who cares what these random customers think" ~ then maybe ask yourself why Southwest is now larger than United is - United and the former Continental combined - in the domestic marketplace. It's because the customers used to think and speak completely opposite of what is written in those comments about United. People and their experience with the product do matter, and the ability to retire from United or Wal-Mart of will reflect that little detail.

And it's things like this that distinguish one airline from another:

If you want to be connected to the Internet while in flight domestically, Delta Air Lines and Southwest Airlines are your best bets among major airlines. And United Airlines for now is the worst, according to a new survey released Tuesday.

I think if you go back at look, you will find almost no CAL people that wanted this merger. In fact we lost a much better CEO in Kellner because of it. Many on his team left when Jeff came to power. The good MGT. we had quit instead of working for him and the people of United.
