Political Posturing -

I spoke with a friend of mine on the UAL MEC last week and we went tit for tat, in jest, on what wouldn't have happened had the company been serious about this merger two years ago. Things mentioned were:
-I would have never written my com piece
-The profit-sharing debacle wouldn't have occurred
-The UAL MEC would never have launched a grievance stating that all (both UAL and CAL) flying belonged to UAL
-The UAL MEC wouldn't have launched a grievance To block the CAL Pilot's IAH 787 base
-The MEC's would not have had to fight for an LOA to extend the UAL TPA protections for the UAL Pilots (passed by the CAL MEC unanimously, UAL MEC by majority)
-The UAL MEC would have been included in Bids 13-08, and 14-02. Ergo, they wouldn't be fighting to cancel my Pilots current bid awards on said bids
At the end of the day, I'm embarrassed by how we have treated each other. I'm also encouraged by talks with individual Pilots from both sides. Get a few blue suiters into a quorum and common sense seems to depart the fix. Get a few black-suiters together and witness the same phenomena.
We both have our beliefs about how things should work out. We've both seen each other's proposals. The only thing that keeps me sane is my commitment to accept the sli, then show up the next day and focus on our collective goals going forward.
My com, that offended many, needed to be said; if for no one else but me. I got it off my chest and can return to our core values. I'm gonna try to serve as best I can until I can't take anymore. I look forward to what both groups bring to the table. The UAL sli might set me back 7 years(last time I was 81% was 2006), but it will be what it will be.
No one posting on this forum had any input into the sli proposals, including me. As a result, I hold no contempt for any line Pilot.

Frats,
-Ben

It appears the cal MEC or at least the people of HOUSTON have decided to start posturing for a combined MEC. I'm not sure of the true intent of this post but you can tell that there is an attempt to make UAL MEC the responsible party for the problems the two mec's have had/are having. Make one thing clear - if you look at the background of al the things listed in the post, the UAL MEC actions were in reaction to misguided deeds of the cal MEC and their mc.

Not to point the author out - he's a good guy. But he made some strong claims of losing a 7 years seniority if the UAL SLI proposal is accepted - would any of our cal brothers like to support his claim - APC225, a good neutral and capable, you want to chime in with a true assessment?

7 years from what date?? Since LCAL conveniently decided that the ISL snapshot should be April 2013, I'm guessing his numbers are based on such. I'd like to hear how much he loses from the ACTUAL merger date in 2010. That's a much more relevant number.

PS, the LCAL proposal has me losing 11 years, so I'm not sure why I should feel apologetic?

It wasn't an attempt to check everybody's seniority but to use BS because he is an LEC rep and gave an example of how he will be impacted if the UAL proposal was used over cal's. This is something we can all look at and measure it's merit as it applies. I'd like to see a cal pilot post the numbers and differences for just BS. He is a LEC rep and should know the impact of the two proposals - I trust but would like to verify. He's posturing for the eventual merger of the MEC's and his facts should be right or corrected if not.

Guess, the cal guys don't want to speak the truth - not surprising - unity??

People............please don't post seniority, bases, etc., for this troller. Staller uses this information for attacks, then tells you he has a big boat and that's ALL the information he'll provide, like that's really telling us about his employment. He won't say who he flies for (if he even does which is suspect among both pilot groups), what his seniority is, what he flies, etc. Please don't fall for his "I'm just wanting to know the facts" BS. I'm beginning to think he's a politician because he ALWAYS skirts the question with some snide remark about JP or how CAL has ruined his life.................... Nothing to see here folks, so move along....................

You know what? You are absolutely right.
Answering a Staller post is like getting into a mud wrestling match with a hog. It serves no good purpose you'll both get muddy and hog likes it.

Ok slick - BS a LEC rep out of IAH has posted here with his name and seniority claims and that is reason enough to evaluate his claim. ewrbasedpilot want to avoid the truth about BS claim - Is it fear?

You can't even apologize to the lady pilots of United - talk about creditability. You may want to stick with Larry.

Amazing isn't it? How could I have guessed in the Spring of 1997 as a UAL new hire how I would be viewed by another group of ALPA pilots 16 years later despite never being furloughed--- as useful only for the advancement of CAL pilot careers. Including those that were still busy at the college Frat house wondering what to do with their lives while I past the probationary year. But hey when you go from zero to hero thanks to the RJ revolution, I guess you feel a sense of entitlement that makes guys like Pierce and Baron seem completely logical. Or, as one Golden Boy said to me (not making this up) "You don't need to worry about the TPA expiring, we will stand right with you. Just vote no!"

Interesting ewrbasedpilot wants me to tell senority, base, equipment and yet he advises all not to divulge the same information. I'm confused as to his motives - if it goes against cal then he cries and starts to name call. Looks like we'll have to babysit these guys for the rest of our careers.
