How is that working on the flights to OGG and LIH?

I think the 739 might be working better than the 753!

I see a change in equipment bidding strategy happening soon. I will hate to be the poor sucker stuck at the bottom on reserve for years to come just for the glory of a fourth stripe. The B757 is fairly senior through out the sUAL system on both seats, these guys will have to bump somewhere.

...might be the great equalizer to whatever comes from the three wise men doing the SLI ....

Are the 757-300s ETOPS? I just read something that said some # of them are undergoing modifications that will make them ETOPS.

The nine original CAL birds are not (but are being modified, per the memo you are referencing) and the ex-ATA birds are.

Looks like a lot of folks will be exercising displacement rights in the next two years.

We save $2 million per year over the old 757.

Too bad the -900 can't carry full people and cargo like the 757.

At book rates, it will take 45 years to make saving $2 million per year worthwhile (Boeing lists the 737-900 at around $80 million).

With 74 777's and 23 747's on the property now (you're welcome), what kind of masochist would want to spend his/her career as a 4 stripe 737 reserve whipping boy? Quality of life is where it's at baby! Right seat on a jumbo is way more 'desirable' than 737 captain any day! :D

The wedding . . . not home.

The soccer finals . . . not home.

You're right! Doing a couple walk arounds a month is not worth the extra 6 days off.

It will be interesting to see the CAL guys bailing from 737 Capt on to 777 FO on the west coast.
