I got an ALPA Email from a Rob S who is the current NYC UAL Vice Chair, is this the same person?

Personally, I hope that the new Council LEC is made up of a combination of LUAL and LCAL pilots... for not only Unity purposes, but for difference of opinions and views.

Different Rob. Also Jeff Barath threw his name in the hat...Good guy and a great leader whom has served our pilot well in the past...He Ran for UAL MEC chair against Steve W.

Dear Fellow C52 pilot:

After much thought, retrospection and encouragement from many of our fellow brother and sister JFKFO pilots I have decided to ask for your consideration in nominating me to represent your interests as a United Airlines pilot.
I ask you to write me in as your choice for Captain rep.

I see that other candidates have sent out the usual "letter of interest to serve" but I will refrain from doing so until we have a successful nomination in hand. At that time a full blown campaign will commence and reach out to the LCAL pilots of Newark.

Again, I ask for your support in nominating me as your Captain rep for the new Council 5.

I hope to see many of you on August 27 at the council meeting,

Fraternally,

Jeff Barath

I think you know it won't work that way. EWR,IAH,CLE and GUM will go to CAL and IAD,ORD,DEN,SEA,SFO and LAX will go to UAL. Who do you think will control the MEC post election?

Forget who is or will be in control, If we do not find a way to come together, we are doomed.

Thanks LeeMat!

Good to see more guys in the running. Though, not sending out the official ALPA notification is interesting.

I take it Jeff is a FO bit has a Captain slot? I have a slight issue with Mark L running as FO Rep when he has been awarded a Capt slot on bid 14-02. (Question becomes, when does he get trained?)

So it seems we have 3 guys (2 LCAL, 1 LUAL) running for Capt Rep, 4 (3 LCAL, 1 LUAL) running for FO Rep and 1 person (LUAL) running for SecTres.
Getting there!

Wrong on that point. The direction of the combined pilot group will be defined by the leadership of the first combined MEC. If we blow that first election, it'll take years to get back on course and moving forward.

Just look at what JP and PW did to the pilot groups.

Motch JFKFO, in his signature line is a reference to the JFK Flight Office. On the L-UAL side the domiciles are refer to as DCAFO, ORDFO, DENFO etc. Jeff is a Captain and has been for a long time.

LOL
Interesting how the little differences in the way we do things or perceive things can have different meanings~

In my time flying as Captain I used to get other pilots asking me why United First Officers wore 4 stripes.

I would tell them I have no idea what they are talking about.

They would say "Your name badge says FO but you have 4 stripes."

I'd reply. "I have 4 stripes because I'm a Captain. I work in Flight Operations."

Maybe we should change the designator to SG and when they ask us what that means we can tell them "Sky Gods".

:p Might I suggest 'MD' ?

Why would we bring back any current members? Let them go out and fly the line for a while.
