Don't let the lack of a degree dissuade you. There are pilots hired without a four year degree.

at CAL..... not UAL.... confirm?

Can't seem to find availability to do a sim prep for interview. Waiting to hear from FTI. Inches meantime, I'll throw this out there. Is there anyone who has sim time with Emerald Coast the week of Nov. 4th that might be willing to split time? ECI requires a 2 hour minimum. Not even sure if they would be amenable, but thought I'd see if anyone out there wanted to reduce costs first. Then I'll propose it with ECI... In lieu of that scenario, anyone got any other ideas for 737 sim prep?

Crewpilottraining in Dallas at SWA sim building. Lots of folks used them for prep. Good luck!

Yep. There are a couple L-UAL pilots that don't have 4 year degrees.

I am surprised at that.....but you did say a couple (2)? If they do not have a Degree I bet they had a lot of flight time (10,000+)

CAL seems to have a lot of guys without it. More than UAL. Of course we didn't have a "flow through" at UAL.

Either way does it matter at this point?

No doubt exceptions to the rule......

CAL also hired with less than 1000PIC turbine.... for a reason...

Guys want to know if they can be competitive without a degree or if they should focus on SWA, JB and VA......

I would say, at least for now, probably no one hired wo a 4 year degree. Too many qualified with it. However, that may change quickly as the pool of qualified applicants dries up quickly. A year to get through that?

And you got to figure all 11,000 of those applicants are also applying to AA, DAL, USA, Fedx, UPS, and many to regionals if military. Sliced up that many ways, maybe there will be a pilot shortage.

Highly recommend doing sim prep. FTI gives two hours vs. one, some sim IPs are former UAL Capts (with connections on the inside), . Both the sim prep IP & interview sim IP said the guys who show up without prep stand out as unprepared.
