I read yesterday that interviews will take a hiatus until after the new year.

They are slowed for the Holidays. There will be some the first couple of weeks of DEC and then that's it for the year.

The pool will be enough to fill all planned new hire classes until interviews start again in late Jan, early Feb.

The pool still has guys from September in it...Plenty of guys for the first month or so...

Anyone else here still patiently waiting for a phone call?...

I don't think you'd describe my waiting for a call with the word "patiently." My wife sure wouldn't :(

I remember waiting for the call, and then receiving it and not being Able to sleep for the fear I was going to blow the interview. The call will come by Delta, United, or AA just relax and be yourself you'll be fine.

If my availability changes, how long can I defer a class date?

Dave Fitzgerald 11-25-2013 11:00 AM

If you understand the seniority system at all, do not post pone your class date for anything short of a death in the family. I do not know the answer to your question, but don't do it. Get your number first.

I haven't even been called for an interview, however, I may need to take a set of orders that will commit me to military service for the next 18-24 months.

Currently a traditional guardsman and flying at a regional. Hoping to get an interview in the next 6-12 months, then transition directly to that job 6-12 months later.

I think once you officially sign an acceptance, you have one year to accept a class date, and you can be ejected from the pool....not that United would do that, but officially.
