Default Easy 737 question

Hey guys,

I am going to be returning to UAL, and I'm coming from flydubai. In the Middle East and it seems most of Europe, they use real headsets and use the intercom. I have to admit, I have gotten use to it and now I like it. I received a really nice (Bose A20) headset for my birthday back in July.

Now that I am returning, I know we just used the little Telex mic on an earpiece in the -300 at UAL. Is that still the case?

Just wondering if I should sell my headset before I get back, as there is quite a market for them here since everyone uses them on the Boeing.

Thanks!
Randy

Keep it. Telex in ac but many have noise reducing headset and use ics. If you don't want it let me know if you want to sell it!

Welcome back

Sell it. The New Guppy doesn't have a real ICS. No hot mike. I have a small set of noise cancelling headsets I bought to kill the noise. All the pilots that I fly with that use these keep in inner earset "off" that ear so they can hear the other pilot talk.

I used NC headsets on the bus on two contract jobs. They are a waste of money on a guppy.

So the switch on the yoke isn't held when pressed down to the intercom position? Some of our aircraft are like that and then we can use the "Boeing rubber band" method to keep the intercom switch on the center pedestal pressed. Is there an intercom/RT switch on the ASP on UA 737s?

If guys use them at all, I want to keep it - it works great on the 737 out here. It is a lot louder than the Bus!

Keep it. At least half of the guys I fly with have a headset. I have a Sennheiser noise cancelling headset and am thinking of going to the new over ear David Clark. For take off and landing you will partially cover one ear, but for the times you are at cruise and not talking, the headset is a lot more comfortable.

A

HEAD

SET

Just the thought of one makes my ears and the top of my head hurt.

21 years in the 737 has led me to this - and I love it.
