Default Bypass rate

Does anyone have the numbers for the latest bypass rate. Everyone has now had the recall letter for the new United not just CAL. Last time it was 5% civilian and 22% mil.

Just curious.

The window to respond is open for a few more days, but as of 9/15/2013 from the CAL IAH CP:

Recalls and hiring
As of midnight on Sunday, Sept. 15, 205 pilots had responded to the recall notices. 23 accepted recall, 87 accepted recall but are on military leave and 95 chose to bypass. The remaining furloughed pilots have until Sept. 24 to respond. Those accepting will be placed into classes between Oct. and Dec.and will have some ability to choose. United will continue to hire off the street during this period for classes where there are not a sufficent number of furloughed pilots who have acepted the offer of recall. Between recalls and new hire pilots, we plan on bringing on about 60 pilots a month through the end of the year and possibly going to 100 for the first six months of 2014.

So that means effectually 14% of respondents are actually coming back immediately. Mil leave people are not available for immediate classes I take it.

Involuntary Furloughees No Longer Among Pilot Group

As of yesterday, 96 furloughees have accepted recall to United and have been awarded class dates. All other furloughees are either at Continental, have taken a bypass or are on Military or other authorized leave. This means that we no longer have any involuntary furloughs among our ranks. This is truly great news.

The return of all involuntary furloughs also reinstates UAL CBA Section 5-B-3 effective immediately. This provision allows United pilots to waive overmax repairs up to 2 hours over the cap.
