This bidding page info isn't accurate. It shows totals before the vacancies have been updated. Shows zero for LAX 787s and off on the other positions, for example DCA 320 FO is 186 now.
Perhaps 2000 + pilots are going to be furlough soon :D |

I know that: the total adds up to only 10,260 pilots

Yup, and the actual VACANCY BULLETIN (w/ MIN-MAX & totals) and the Vacancy Bidding instructions were both pulled from FlyingTogether.
Something is up. |

They moved it. It's under Flight Operations, sCO Staffing, Vacancy Bid, 14-02.
What's your best guess to the happenings going on. IT department, man power planning or management? |

Interesting you would say that. The note at the bottom says "Active pilots are pilots not on a long term absence and are not projected to retire within the training period above [1/30/2014]"

The IAH 756 numbers don't make sense. There are around 220 FOs now in that category and this bid shows 130 or so?

That seems like too large a discrepency for just that to explain it, but I also wouldn't think that IAH would need 200+ 67 F/O's , as there aren't that many departures from IAH on legacy CAL 57s or 67s. |
