Maybe. The rumor is a large vacancy bid for the 737 in SFO soon for flying in the fall. It's still pretty senior at the moment, but that will change as soon as it opens up. However, yes, the more senior seats will be at a premium due to the 757 draw down, at least in SFO.
My guess would be that the 737 would open up to more junior people in the fall. |

"Adjusting" out of LAX?
Dear Fellow [AA] Team Members
I am writing to share with you some good news. This week, American Airlines and United Airlines reached an agreement regarding several gates and ticket counter locations here at LAX. Under the terms of the agreement, we have secured four gates at Terminal 6 as well as corresponding ticket counters and office space currently occupied by United. We expect to have the transaction completed sometime during the third quarter of this year. With the added gates, American and US Airways will operate approximately 180 daily flights to 55 destinations in seven countries, from a total of 28 gates here at LAX. While there are still a lot of details to be ironed out on how best to utilize the additional gates and ticket counters, we do anticipate that some of our operations at Terminal 3 will eventually move to Terminal 6. There will not be an impact to staffing levels or flying here in the short term, however we continually evaluate our network. It is important to note that this transaction is independent of the gate divestitures required in LAX as part of the Final Judgment with the U.S. Department of Justice, which allowed us to complete our merger. You may remember that the DOJ required us to divest some assets at LAX. That requirement does not prohibit us from obtaining additional gates here. As you know, working in a space and capacity constrained airport can be challenging. With the agreements with United for additional gate and ticket counter space, we will be able to improve customer service here and, ultimately, provide our customers a more seamless travel experience. That is something we should all be happy about. Thank you for all you do day in and day out taking care of our customers. |

Concern with SEA 76t?
Okay, new guy question. Does the fact that there are only 76ts at Seattle concern anyone? Basically since there are only 76 aircraft at Seattle is there a more likelihood of them going away there and the domicile closing?
