Bases and Seats...

Can someone provide an update on what bases operate which aircraft and the lowest seniority number for each seat?

I haven't seen info like this in a long while and I'm wonder what is where!

MARTY!

I have been trying for a while to get this converted to post...Note, this is not the up to date numbers as the notes specify. An update should be out in a couple of weeks.

What kind of routes do the IAH 756s fly? Are the EWR 756s all going across the pond to Europe?

picaro 10-27-2013 12:56 PM

Does anybody have a swag at what the vacancy bid this week (per howard) Is it just going to open up ORD747, or have other vacancies as well?
On another note, can they combine a vacancy and displacements into one bid? Or is it just one or the other. Thanks

Vacancy and displacement are separate now.

Mix of hub to hub and FL domestic, west coast to Hawaii, a few Europe trips via iad or ewr, a couple of deep south America cities on the 764 as well.

Quite a bit of deadhead at the front or back of trips, sometimes both.. Nice for commuters

Yes, ewr 756 is mostly Europe flying

Any updates?

LUAL 777 Seattle base with 34 pilots closed end of January.

Norske 12-18-2013 10:27 AM

Slats, thanks for the info. I'm a poolie anticipating a class date next May/June due to military separation. Any chance you could post an updated snapshot of your previous post?

Also wondering what people think about where seniority will end up for the 737 SFO base in the next year, or two. Finally, if ORD is my goal would the A320 or 737 be a better choice, assuming I have the option to choose?

Thanks.

Norske, go to the 737, it's an expanding fleet.

Yes it is. Most of the Airbus FOs won't be bidding into the seat for the improved seniority (although some have already) because they can hold Captain on the guppy, so it looks like mostly new hires, and good movement.

You got it brother!

The company is going through IT changes so it has been a few weeks since I could grab one of these.

Hey Pilot/Staller/Caroldanger, whoever you are!? You sound like a broken record!! No matter what the post is (the topic could be about butterflies in Central America!) and you would make it a point to say at least the A320 FO's would be senior to butterflies on the 737!! We get it!! Sorry to burst your bubble, NO ONE CARES!! Particularly new hires! Try to be a LITTLE positive on here, or you may get kicked off AGAIN!!:o

Slats et al,
Kind of quiet here lately, so thought I'd stir the pot a bit. Has this changed much since the mid-December update? Could someone re-post?

Also, I have been searching threads for info and fully understand that "DEN and new hire" are not used in the same sentence, but if that is a goal for one's family, what would be the wisest course of action to obtain it based on current projections? Perhaps more relevant, how long to be domiciled there and which a/c is best (assume 737 based on page 54 in Poolie thread)? How are other new hires living in CO doing this (bid to IAH, SFO, ORD rather than EWR as soon as able) and how many days home?

If living in DEN means commuting for 2-3 years, how long to get to DCA instead and on which a/c?
Would be very grateful for info, starting soon and trying to figure out where to land the family while avoiding multiple moves with school-age kids.

Quickest way to denver is the 737, how long though is anyone guess..

For DCA, the A320 and the 76T went pretty junior on last bid
(DCA 76T fo is seniority 12415 and a320 is 12548) junior guy overall is around 12600ish

Since new hires are going to ewr a320 and ewr 76t, you should be able to do a base transfert to dca pretty quickly.

Welcome aboard!

What is the 76t ? Thx.. I was going to start a new thread. No need to waste more someplace. Just out curiosity is the APC UAL pay scales updated with the new 8.5% raise as of this past Jan 1st? Thanks and apologize for the thread drift..

Pre-merger UAL 757/767 fleet (i.e. 757-200 & 767-300ER).

FWIW, pre-merger CAL 757/767 metal is 756.

myoface 02-09-2014 04:33 PM

Damn...I thought it was a turbo charged 767. Guess I was wrong again.

76T is the LUAL 757-767 fleet. They will not be combined for some time due to required retrofits and the LUAL 757's largely going away. So they will operate as separate fleets for now. LUAL 757's and 767-300's are 767T, LCAL 757's, 757-300's and 767-400's are 756.

Last time I checked the pay rates on APC had NOT been updated for the 8.5% rate. For reference, A320 Captain 12th year should now be $205 or so. If you see numbers close to that on APC, they've updated to the new rates

Thread drift;

I can ask this question in April when I return from furlough, but I don't want a spin answer for the benefit of the new hires.
Question;
From the quick take here on APC. UAL has 150 firm wide body orders. I can guess they will replace the 747-400 and 767's. That still is growth is it not???

I'm not getting excited yet.......

HotPot 02-13-2014 12:45 AM

100 firm orders and 50 OPTIONS.... I had to look at that again.

Airplane orders are in no way an indication of growth. The annual fleet plan, the annual report, and the quarterly reports are a much better indication. At the moment there is no growth planned for 2014. Any thoughts of what might be beyond 2015 are pure speculation. However, the annual report does talk about plans for growth on the order of 1 to 2% but that's ASM (available seat miles) and that doesn't necessarily translate to a growing fleet. If the 787 is used to replace some 767-300 flying that would be an increase in ASMs but not aircraft.

Cool. Stagnation at best. Nothing different than when I left. I had some vodka in my cool-aide.
However I hope we can pull this thing together.

The only thing that has changed for me since the merger and ISL is that I am still displaced from the left seat of the Bus. But now instead of being 5 from the bottom on the right seat of the 756 in DEN. I now have just on 17 years on the property and am 2 from the bottom on right seat of the 756 in DEN. So things are really looking up.

JetBlast or anyone else out there with the data.....can you post the current data for "Junior Pilot in Operation by Domicile?" The last data posted in this thread was current as of December 17th. Have the numbers changed much since then?

Can someone tell me if the UAL guys out in Guam… what their tax rate is?

It appears that Guam has their own taxation system and wondering if it uses the same % as the US federal tax. Ultimately just curious if there's a tax break being based there.

Thanks

Kap

Nope. You pay federal income tax. You file a Guam 1040 that is identical to the US 1040 except check goes to Gov Guam if you owe. And trust me you do not want Gov Guam owing you cash. Obviously there is no state tax. However, the inflated price of everyday items and frequent lack of availability to them more then makes up for that.
